Sami Reindeer Experience

Experience authentic Sami culture on this trip to a reindeer farm outside Tromsø.

After meeting you in the city center we will go on a 25 minute seaside drive. Once we’ve arrived at the camp you will meet the Sami family and get a short introduction into their lives with the reindeer. Following that you’ll get the possibility of feeding the reindeer, practice lasso throwing and go on a short reindeer-sledding ride (optional).
You’ll be offered warm lunch and hot drinks, followed by a gathering inside the lavvu, where you’ll enjoy storytelling and a joik performance, the traditional song of the Sami.
Tour information
- Feeding of wild Reindeer
- Guests can test lasso throwing (but not on real reindeer)
- Hot drinks (tea, coffee, hot chocolate) around the fire inside a warm candle lit gamme (Traditional Sami Hut)
- Warm lunch of bidos (a traditional Sami soup) with more hot drinks and cookies (vegetarian option possible)
- Storytelling of Sami Culture
- A joik performance (traditional Sami folk song)

You will return early enough to join our Northern Lights chase in the evening
This trip starts early. There will be no refunds if you are not at the pick-up location at the agreed time
