Fjords excursion by car

WINTER / 18 SEPTEMBER TO LATE MARCH

Discover scenic landscapes, impressive fjords and arctic wildlife. Join us on this day trip to discover Tromsø’s beautiful surroundings by car.

body-image

From lush green landscapes in summer, to colorful trees and sunsets in autumn, to snow capped mountains and frozen beaches in winter, Northern Norway’s nature offers stunning landscapes that will will leave you speechless.

After picking you up at our shop (Storgata 64), we leave Tromsø behind us and visit Kvaløya (“Whale Island”), where we visit some of the most beautiful landmarks that make Tromsø one of Norway’s most popular destinations.

We often see reindeer and elk crossing the road, sometimes we can spot sea eagles and seals hunting for fish. From mid October to late January whales visit Tromsø’s fjords to feed on herring. During that time there is a good chance we will spot humpback whales and orcas from the shore. We have a light lunch and hot drinks around a campfire. Throughout the trip we will take stunning photographs of the landscape and you that we will share with you after the trip.

We have warm clothing on board, in case you get cold, but please wear something wind and rain proof.

Important Things to Note

Frequently Asked Questions

general

  1. I'm afraid we are not able to take enquiries on the phone due to our daily and nightly trips. We handle all bookings and enquiries online at the moment as we will be able to answer them faster (we have more people checking the emails) without missing out on any previous information communicated between us.

  2. Tromsø airport is serviced by 3 airlines, and these are:

Norwegian Air is usually cheaper, while SAS allows for the usage of miles for Star Alliance members. You may like to check on these websites to see which has a better offer for your preferred dates and would work best for your intended travelling schedule. If you're flying from Oslo to Tromsø, both Norwegian Air and SAS operate several direct flights to Tromsø daily.

If you are flying from London, you could fly with SAS from Heathrow, or with Norwegian Air from Gatwick. Norwegian Air also has a few direct flights from London to Tromsø each week.

  3. It is true that camera batteries drain much faster in cold temperatures, however it also depends on what camera and type of battery you have. 90% of the time a fully charged battery on a DSLR would last the entire night.

If you have a DSLR, I would recommend carrying 1 extra backup battery, while if you have a small point and shoot, 1 or 2 backups would be good. You may not have to use them at all, but just in case we get a good show, it's always better to be prepared. :)

  4. It is not necessary to print anything for your trips with us. We have your details and have already passed them to our partners (for various day trips). Our partners and tour guides will have your details on their lists when picking you up, and all you need to do is check that your details are correct and you’re joining the correct company.
