body-image

From lush green landscapes in summer, to colorful trees and sunsets in autumn, to snow capped mountains and frozen beaches in winter, Northern Norway’s nature offers stunning landscapes that will will leave you speechless.

After picking you up at our shop (Storgata 64), we leave Tromsø behind us and visit Kvaløya (“Whale Island”), where we visit some of the most beautiful landmarks that make Tromsø one of Norway’s most popular destinations.

We often see reindeer and elk crossing the road, sometimes we can spot sea eagles and seals hunting for fish. From mid October to late January whales visit Tromsø’s fjords to feed on herring. During that time there is a good chance we will spot humpback whales and orcas from the shore. We have a light lunch and hot drinks around a campfire. Throughout the trip we will take stunning photographs of the landscape and you that we will share with you after the trip.

We have warm clothing on board, in case you get cold, but please wear something wind and rain proof.

Important Things to Note

Frequently Asked Questions

general

  1. Taxi
At the airport, you should be able to easily get a taxi from the taxi stand, that is located right outside the luggage conveyor belts. The trip to the city is about 10 to 15 minutes and should cost between 200 NOK to 350 NOK depending on your flight time and the traffic. To order a taxi, you can call Tromsø Taxis at +47 03011.

    Airport Bus
You can also take the airport bus, Flybussen to the city. The bus cost 90 NOK per adult and stops at 4 stops in the city: Scandic Ishavshotel, Tromsø Prostneset, Scandic Grand hotel and Polaria.

  2. It is not necessary to print anything for your trips with us. We have your details and have already passed them to our partners (for various day trips). Our partners and tour guides will have your details on their lists when picking you up, and all you need to do is check that your details are correct and you’re joining the correct company.

  3. For your clothes, we would recommend bringing water resistant and wind proof outer layers, woolen socks and woolen underwear, preferably merino wool. For your shoes, we would advise that you wear shoes that are waterproof, well insulated and something that allows you to wear extra layers of woolen socks in if it gets colder.

  4. We do go to Finland or Sweden if the conditions are better there. Within the Schengen area, it is not necessary to clear formalities when crossing borders as the Schengen agreement allows us to cross borders within Europe without a passport. However, we would still encourage bringing along your passports on the chases as the border control in Finland may on very rare occasions request to check our passports and it would be safer simply to bring it along.
