Have you ever wondered how meat is produced in a sustainable and family run farm under the harsh Arctic conditions? Experience the life of a Norwegian Black Angus farmer and get a firsthand taste of the local specialities he produces.
The tour starts by picking you up with our modern and comfortable minibus in Tromsø’s city centre. After a 90 minute seaside drive along magnificent fjords you will meet farmer Birger Bull, who will welcome you to his farm and restaurant. Birger’s presentation inside the farm will give you a close insight into what farming means to him and his family and how the animal’s well-being contributes to the meat’s quality. You will learn about the life of the cows, what it takes to keep them happy and healthy, and even how they automatically send information about their unborn calves to the farmer’s phones using SMS. You’ll be surprised how modern farming can be!
After the tour inside the farm you will follow Birger into his restaurant, where you’ll be served a delicious meal full of local ingredients you will find nowhere else, while overlooking a nearby fjord through the farm’s panoramic windows.
